ASoIaF:Robert's Rebellion, Sack of King's Landing by SephyStabbity ASoIaF:Robert's Rebellion, Sack of King's Landing by SephyStabbity
A pseudo-tapestry I made depicting the events of Robert's Rebellion and the sack of King's Landing.

A timeline of all the events:
It starts with Maester Pycelle starting the the sack of King's Landing by letting in the Lannister forces invading the city, then Aerys is shown ordering Rossart to use wildfire on the city. Then Jaime gets ready to stab him. Meanwhile Ser Amory Lorch and Ser Gregor Clegane kill Elia Martell, Rhaenys and the presumed baby Aegon. Next, Robert kills Rhaegar on the trident, and Queen Rhaella flees King's Landing with Viserys to Dragonstone where Daenerys will be born in the middle of a storm. Meanwhile Robert is crowned king and Tywin presents him with the corpses of Elia, Rhaenys and presumed Aegon wrapped in Lannister crimson. Ned Stark of course quarrels with Robert over this and in his rage, he rides out to the Tower of Joy with his six companions (Howland Reed, William Dustin, Ethan Glover, Martyn Cassel, Theo Wull, Mark Ryswell). There, the three Kingsguard knights guarding it are killed and Ned finds Lyanna dying in a pool of blood (with baby Jon at her breast), while Howland Reed survives with him and saves his life. Thus ends Robert Rebellion with Robert and Ned grieving over Lyanna and the Targaryen dynasty broken. Meanwhile, Gryff sails to Essos with the boy presumed to be the real Aegon.

I know there are continuity issues and that is entirely my fault for not researching enough and partly due to artistic decisions.

I based it on the Bayeux Tapestry (you can clearly see the influences, I think) and it was mostly a really fun exercising in trying out a new artstyle. I liked this style so much that I'm working on a Tyrell tapestry too, to be completed soon :)

I beleive that Rhaegar died before the sacking, that when the prince was gone Tywin realised the Targaryens had lost and decided to show loyalty to Robert by taking KL.
